Second Chance for McCrispy

The reinvention of the popular McCrispy burger at McDonald's has seen the chain call on customers to give it a second chance.

McDonald’s Australia has changed its recipe for one of its popular chicken burgers, the McCrispy. In a statement, McDonald’s Australia said the burger, and its counterpart the McCrispy Deluxe, was crispier, crunchier, juicer and ready to steal the spotlight.

With 68 percent of Australian customers believing that sequels can outshine the original, the fast food giant has invited the nation to rediscover and convert to the McCrispy.

“Aussies have always loved a good chicken burger, but the new McCrispy takes it to another level. We’ve dialled up the crunch, elevated the flavour, and created a burger that’s everything Aussies love, just even better,” said Amanda Nakad, Marketing Director of Menu and Brand for McDonald’s Australia.

“With McWings launched earlier this year, and now the McCrispy, we’re showing just how seriously we take chicken. Macca's is here to satisfy every craving, chicken included.”

From the McChicken and McSpicy, to Chicken McNuggets and Chicken McWings, McDonald’s chicken menu has soared in popularity over the past few years. Now all the fan favourites are waiting at the Golden Arches, from iconic burgers and World-Famous Fries, to indulgent McFlurries and a growing chicken lineup that now features the new irresistible McCrispy.

Nakad added that Australian customers are all about second chances, and that 98 percent said they were open to giving things another go, and 89 percent say it’s usually worth it.

In fact, Australian consumers are more likely to give food and drink a second go (65 percent) than movies (49 percent), brands (55 percent), hobbies (45 percent), exes (31 percent), or even past jobs (13 percent).

Nakad said taste buds don’t lie, and the McCrispy is ready to win them over.

“So, if you skipped or weren’t sold on the McCrispy the first time, now’s your moment to be converted.”
