ROBOT BARTENDERS

Set to hit markets soon in September, founder and CEO Akshet Tewari has introduced Barsys, a tabletop robot bartender that can be controlled through a mobile app. Offering around 2,000 alcoholic recipes pre-programmed to the device, Barsys provides a unique experience at home parties. While holding the potential to be used in bars, Tewari did not design the robot to replace real bartenders but to alleviate pressure from function hosts and demonstrate showmanship in the creation of cocktails. While the robot itself requires shipping, the Barsys app is free to download and includes a feature where users can input their own drink recipes. A version is also set to be available for lease or purchase by hotels, restaurants and bars in the interests of tracking drink popularity.
