Peter Gordon honoured with top award

World-renowned chef Peter Gordon has been honoured with the supreme award at the Kea World Class NZ Awards for his outstanding and ongoing philanthropic efforts. A veteran of New Zealand’s hospitality scene, Gordon has raised more than $16 million in support of Leukaemia research over the last 20 years through various charitable events. Gordon, who is now London-based, is the head chef of SKYCITY’s The Sugar Club and Bellota.

Along with his significant contributions to the culinary scene, Gordon has also supported charities such as the Restoration of Appearance and Function Trust, Raukatauri Music Therapy Centre and Leukaemia & Blood Cancer New Zealand. Craig Donaldson, chief executive of Kea Global, said that Gordon was an exemplary Kiwi and that through his work he has showcased the best of New Zealand’s produce and generosity.
