Local Auckland hospitality businesses have been recognized for their work and service at the 2024 Newmarket Business Awards.

After receiving a record number of nominations, the highly anticipated 2024 Newmarket Business Awards winners have been officially announced. Hosted by the Newmarket Business Association (NBA), local businesses and friends gathered at the Cordis to celebrate each other's successes.

Businesses in Newmarket are well-positioned for the improving economy thanks to the precinct’s vibrant mix of retail, dining, professional, and entertainment options. The area attracts both domestic and international visitors, creating a lively town centre that attracts innovation and investment, spreading across to other areas and helping boost the economy of New Zealand.

Each year, the calibre of entries gets tougher, with our esteemed judges recognising the very top businesses across 14 categories. Newmarket Business Association’s CEO, Mark Knoff-Thomas, said the awards were an opportunity to highlight the hard work and passion of local businesses.

“I’m so proud of how the Newmarket precinct keeps evolving year to year. In the ten years I’ve been CEO, I’ve seen nothing but passion and dedication from our business owners. These awards were originally started as a way to show thanks and recognition to the people who make Newmarket the buzzing hub that it’s known as today. A huge congratulations to all the finalists and winners, and particularly to the supreme winner, Fortune Manning,” said Knoff-Thomas.

He also thanked the 2024 judging panel and sponsors, including major sponsor BNZ.

Burger Burger won the Diversity and Inclusion Champion of the Year Award, while Archie Brothers Cirque Electriq Newmarket won the Night Time Venue of the Year category.

A popular hotspot with locals, L’Atelier du Fromage won Cafe of the Year for its service, engagement and array of French cuisine and wine.

Arte Della Pasta took home the title of Restaurant of the Year, while the iconic local Chinese restaurant, Pearl Garden, was the 2024 Newmarket Legend recipient.

The Newmarket Business Association was incorporated in 1937. It is one of the largest business associations of its type in New Zealand. The association delivers strategies to promote the precinct and advocates on behalf of all the business sectors within the defined boundary.
