A year of refined gastronomy lies ahead as Four Seasons Hotel New York Downtown continues its Restaurant-in-Room Chef Series, as well as the announcement of its first culinary collaboration of 2024.
Executive Chef of the award-winning luxury hotel and lifestyle icon, Chef Maria Tampakis has curated a lineup of New York City’s top restaurants, chefs and culinary artists to create in-room dining experiences parallel to sitting in some of the city’s most notable dining destinations - available exclusively to Hotel guests.
To begin the year, Tampakis will combine forces with Chef Mitsunobu Nagae of Michelin-starred restaurant l’abeille to bring guests a taste of the restaurant’s recent one-night-only experience featuring Chef Yosuke Suga from Tokyo’s coveted invite-only dining concept Sugalabo. Each chef will bring a distinctive culinary style and expertise, and will result in a three-course menu that seamlessly blends diverse flavours, techniques and inspirations.
“This series is close to my heart. I love bringing our city’s tapestry of culinary talent to our guests,” said Tampakis.
“Working with celebrated chefs to create experiences that show the soul of New York's gastronomic scene is not just a profession, but a personal passion. This series encapsulates the spirit of our city, plated with creativity, dedication, and the shared love for delivering extraordinary dining moments.”
l’abeille, Executive Chef Mistunobu Nagae’s flagship, is located in Tribeca, a one-Michelin-star restaurant influenced by traditional Japanese dishes and Chef Mistunobu’s global background in French fine dining. An ingredient-forward tasting menu culminates in an intimate dining room for an elegant dining experience. A meeting of culinary minds, Chef Yosuke Suga of Sugalabo will add a touch of the treasured ingredients that make up the awe-inspiring dishes enjoyed only by select gourmets at the highly acclaimed gastronomic secret in Tokyo.
“It is an honour to collaborate with these chefs and bring a new dining experience directly to guests visiting our vibrant city and staying at Four Seasons Hotel New York Downtown,” says Chef Mistunobu Nagae, Executive Chef and Owner of l’abeille.
“The menu we are offering guests is a seamless blend of each of our backgrounds and techniques—comforting and sophisticated. I am proud to offer the exclusive l’abeille x Sugalabo experience in-room.”
Chef Maria Tampakis, along with the esteemed chefs, will recreate three signature dishes for curious connoisseurs to enjoy in the comfort of their well-appointed rooms. Guests can enjoy crispy scallops with sunchoke velouté before indulging in a wagyu teriyaki burger and for dessert, fresh fish and pistachio beignets with tartar sauce.
