Mr Toms saga continues

Following the seemingly abrupt closure of Ponsonby’s Mr Toms, the co-owner has denied that it was a knee-jerk reaction to a rough lunch service that had customers walking out.

Following a $50 bottomless lunch event hosted at Mr Toms that went astray, Mr Toms announced its closure via Facebook. However, Mr Toms owner, Jenny Goulding, said that the closure was simply bad-timing and an unfortunate coincidence. According to Goulding, closure had been contemplated two or three months ago. Goulding has announced that instead Mr Toms is closing for a “rebrand and refurbish”. Jenny Goulding and business partner, Terrence Goulding, have been running Mr Toms since November 2018, and have spent more than 20 years in the hospitality industry.
