Having lost her overseas job due to the pandemic, Bridget Leach decided to put her Hotel and Hospitality diploma to use. She was hired as a waitress at Terra Viva, with no experience as a barista.
Now, two years later, Leach has made her way up to being the head barista and the assistant manager at Terra Viva. She loves providing customers with their go-to cup of happiness every day, while her own favourite keeps constantly changing, the current one being a latte with a shot of butterscotch syrup.
Terra Viva has been a family-run restaurant cafe for over 25 years, with a new drink of the month each month, this month’s being Bounty Brew. They also do high tea and have a menu change every six to eight weeks to incorporate seasonal products.
“Having a skilled barista who knows how to pull a good shot, together with nice silky milk, is the sure way to get a great cup of coffee,” said Leach.
While not working, Leach enjoys spending time with friends and trying new restaurants and cafes around the city.
