KFC is celebrating the return of its crowd-pleaser Double Down burger by introducing a “gravy tap”.
New Zealand’s first gravy tap, which dispenses the Colonel’s iconic gravy on demand, is coming to KFC Sylvia Park for a limited time.
The tap will allow customers to serve themselves gravy to dip and double-dip their Double Down burger, which ditches the buns for two Secret Recipe Fillets and is stacked with bacon, cheese and the Colonel’s special Sauce.
KFC’s Supercharged Double Down will also make a return. It features two Zinger Fillets, stacked with bacon, cheese and KFC’s Supercharged sauce.
KFC Marketing Director Leanne Too said the Double Down has a cult following in New Zealand.
“Every time it’s off the menu, we hear about it,” she explained.
The Double Down broke all the rules, and for its comeback this time around, KFC wanted to match its energy by breaking another rule and making it socially acceptable to double-dip into gravy.
The gravy tap will only be operational from 14 July to 17 July. For customers who could not make it to Sylvia Park, every Double Down purchased would come with an optional side of gravy at KFC restaurants nationwide until it sold out.
