Iconic Ice Cream Brand Opens First Standalone Store in Wellington

Ice cream lovers will be wanting to head to Wellington at the end of the year to grab a scoop of Ben & Jerry’s, the American ice cream brand is to open its first permanent physical shop there in November.

The Ben & Jerry’s store will be located on Cuba St in the city’s CBD, taking over a part of a recently redeveloped heritage building. The store will offer the brand’s most popular treats, including scoops of chocolate chunks and swirls, cookie dough ice cream and the all-new Dough-Licious Pizza.

“It’s been a tough year for most businesses but it’s also been very positive to see continuous growth for the Ben & Jerry’s franchise network, especially in New Zealand,” said James Young, head of franchise sales and development at DC Strategy.

The launch will bring Ben & Jerry’s store numbers in Australia and New Zealand to 39. The brand launched a pop-up store at Wellington Airport last year.
