Over 500 cases of foodborne illness in 15 states in the USA have been reported after customers reportedly ate McDonald’s salads. However, the offending ingredient is yet to be identified.
The outbreak initially occurred in July and while it was found is states as varied as Wisconsin, Nebraska and Tennessee, many of those reported having purchased salads while in Illinois.
The outbreak was traced back to a salad processor in Streamwood, Illinois. At least 24 people have been hospitalised, but no deaths have been reported.
