As a shortage of salad hits fast food joints around New Zealand, cabbage will replace lettuce in some KFC burgers, or customers may get no greens at all.
Fast food fans were sent an email on Thursday afternoon apologising for the supply issues:
“Due to a lettuce shortage, burgers may contain a lettuce and cabbage mix or no lettuce at all,” it read. The notice was also posted on the KFC website.
Last month Australian outlets hit the same problem, blaming flooding events in Queensland and NSW for the lack of lettuce in burgers like the popular zinger.
