Wellington Airport's latest multi-level hospitality venue has selected EVT for its management contract.
EVT has been awarded the management contract for Wellington Airport’s new multi-level hospitality venue. Construction on the complex began in March.
EVT has a well-established working relationship with the airport, operating Rydges Wellington Airport Hotel, along with food and beverage outlets Peloton Bar & Eatery and Whiskey Lima Golf, since their opening in 2019. The 4.5 star hotel is fully integrated with the main terminal building, providing unparalleled convenience for travellers.
With an existing track record of exceptional customer service and hospitality, EVT is perfectly aligned to operate the new food and beverage venue. The area, featuring a ground floor and mezzanine level, will create a 300-seat restaurant in departures and offer casual dining, baked goods, café bites, savoury treats, deli selections and a burger bar.
Simon White, Country Manager, EVT Hotels New Zealand and Pacific, said the new hospitality venue will be a fantastic addition to the airport.
“We’re thrilled EVT has been chosen to lead the operations. With an existing presence in the terminal and a deep understanding of its customers, we’re excited to offer this wider range of food and beverage to ensure there is something for everyone, whether it’s a quick coffee, lunch in between flights, an afternoon pick me up or an overnight layover”.
Jeff Hermes, General Manager of Rydges Wellington Airport will oversee EVT’s management at an operational level.
“The venue will make for an enhanced traveller experience, particularly those on early morning flights; the new space will offer breakfast and delicious food-to-go options from 4am to ensure those on the first flights of the day can start it right”.
EVT was awarded the contract after a competitive pitch process led by Wellington Airport. Wellington Airport Chief Executive Matt Clarke said EVT’s operational expertise stood out.
“This is going to be a spectacular addition to Wellington Airport, and we know that with EVT operating the venue, it will be a very popular place to eat, drink, relax and enjoy the view."
