Research has found that one in ten cups of coffee in Australia are made with soy milk, and it is a trend that is more than established in New Zealand. The shift towards soy has been prompted by a number of reasons – for some it is for health reasons, and for others it is a chance to explore and experiment with how their coffees taste. Soy is breaking into the mainstream of coffee consumption, and developments over the years have meant that it is becoming easier to use in a café setting.
Vitasoy is a market leading brand, and has firmly established its place in the barista scene, which made it an obvious choice to partner with when it came to the 2018 Espress Yourself Latte Art competition, held at the Food First trade show in association with Restaurant and Café magazine.
“Vitasoy is delighted to be involved with the vibrant coffee culture in New Zealand through our partnership with the Espress Yourself competition,” said Chris Gillard, General Manager Vitasoy. “We can’t wait to see some of the creations.”
Vitasoy Café for Baristas Soy Milk has been formulated especially for its creamy and mellow flavour, which accompanies coffee perfectly. Café for Baristas Soy Milk works extremely well under the daily pressures of a busy café, texturing and pouring perfectly.
“Espress Yourself Latte Art challenge is a fun competition for baristas using social media platforms as a quick way to enter and to vote,” said Tania Walters, publisher of Restaurant and Café magazine “We welcome the support from Vitasoy as naming sponsor. With this support, we have been able to provide a fantastic range of cash prizes to drive participation from baristas. Vitasoy adds a new dimension to the challenge as baristas are able to submit entries using plant based dairy alternatives in response to consumer demand.”
