El Pollo Loco names chief operating officer

El Pollo Loco, the California-based fast-food company, has named Miguel Lozano as their new chief operating officer. Lozano is replacing Gus Siade, who left in January. Lozano’s extensive experience includes 23 years with Starbucks as well as being an El Pollo Loco restaurant general manager and area leader in addition to being a franchisee for seven years.

El Pollo Loco CEO, Bernard Acoca, said that Lozano would be looking to drive brand growth and profitability. “His proven leadership skills and extensive knowledge of the restaurant industry will be instrumental in helping El Pollo Loco simplify and transform our operating platform to ensure meaningful and sustainable growth for the future and also do it in a way that is consistent with our values,” said Acoca.

This month, El Pollo Loco will also be revitalising their brand. This will include a new logo as well as a return to their Los Angeles roots.
