DoorDash has expanded its presence in New Zealand with 10 new locations around the country adopting the delivery platform.
Food delivery app DoorDash has announced it will launch in Te Puke, Tokoroa, Whakatāne, Hāwera, Feilding, Levin, Masterton, Ashburton, Oamaru and Wānaka. This expansion will see DoorDash service over 77 percent of the New Zealand population, a significant milestone in the company’s mission to connect more communities with local businesses.
DoorDash has already made a significant impact on New Zealand’s hospitality sector, partnering with over 5,000 local merchants.
Since launching in Wellington in 2022, the delivery platform has expanded into 24 towns and cities across the country, including Auckland, Tauranga, Hamilton, Hastings, Dunedin and Christchurch – allowing Kiwis to get more to their door.
“We’re thrilled to be bringing DoorDash to even more communities across New Zealand. Whether it’s a Friday night feed, last-minute coffee run, or treat top up, we’re all about making life easier for Kiwis,” said Bradley Thomas, General Manager of DoorDash New Zealand.
“Local businesses are at the heart of everything we do. It’s great to be able to connect local merchants with more customers to help them grow and thrive.”
DoorDash has become the largest on-demand local commerce platform in the United States since it launched in 2013, and operates in thousands of cities worldwide.
To celebrate its latest expansion, the platform is giving all new customers in Masterton, Ashburton, Levin, Feilding, Whakatāne, Tokoroa, Oamaru, Wānaka, Hāwera, Te Puke, 50 percent off their first two DoorDash orders, and $0 delivery fee for their first 30 days on the platform.
Founded in 2013, DoorDash builds products and services to help businesses innovate, grow, and reach more customers. It has supported the local commerce sector by enabling merchants to thrive in the convenience economy, giving consumers access to more of their communities, and providing work that empowers them.
