AUSTRALIA | Global viral sensation, Crumbl, has officially announced its debut in the Australian market, following a recent fraudulent imitation at Bondi.
Viral cookie company Crumbl has announced it will officially launch in Australia, following recent speculation.
In a statement, Crumbl said it would now accelerate plans to bring some of its creations, such as its popular collaborations with celebrities like Kylie Jenner, to the land down under.
“Crumbl has been inspired to accelerate plans to provide all dessert-loving Aussies, with a true Crumbl experience,” the statement read.
"As Crumbl continues to grow its global footprint, the company remains dedicated to its core values of experience, relationships, authenticity, and innovation. Crumbl is thrilled to expand its mission of gathering friends and family over the best desserts in the world to Aussie fans."
The company said it would advise fans via its social media pages with updates on when and where it will open.
The news has followed a devastating saga last month when hundreds of fans flocked to Bondi to buy Crumbl cookies, with a ‘Pop-UP’ shop advertised on Instagram and TikTok. The event was not official, as those behind it admitted to purchasing the goods overseas. The cookies, typically sold by Crumbl for $6, were sold for $17.50.
Lawyers have claimed that they do not “have a leg to stand on”, and that the company would most likely take action. Fans were said to have waited in line for up to four hours in order to get their hands on the cookies, which has supported the demand for the quick service brand's launch in Australia.
Founded in 2017 in Logan, Utah, by Jason McGowan and Sawyer Hemsley, the company has gone on to open over 1000 stores across 50 states in the USA, Canada, and Puerto Rico in under seven years.
Its menu has offered new flavours every week, while embracing traditional flavours to please the crowds.
