Cheap LabourTwo managers of the Auckland Indian restaurant chain Masala could face to seven years in jail or massive fines after exploiting workers at two different venues.

In one case a waiter was paid $2.64 an hour while working more than 66 hours a week and a chef was paid a total of $40 for more than nine weeks’ work. There were a number of other complaints about working hours, falsified time sheets and immigration issues.
