A new eatery, Frankie’s Toasties is set to open soon in Manchester. The restaurant will serve toasties with 32 filling options ranging from the usual to the bizarre. The Sir Richard Branston toastie is filled with cheddar, mozzarella and Branston Pickle, quite a reasonable sounding choice, while the Salford Super Noodle Butty contains chicken flavoured noodles. Other examples of fillings from the restaurant include Nutella and banana, apple and custard with cinnamon sugar, or even candy bar fillings such as Kinder Buenos, Mars Bars and Maltesers.
“It’s a bit of a random idea but I was just at home one night, I had nowt in the fridge, so I made a toastie – and when I was eating it that’s when I thought – everyone loves a toastie. As far as I know, we’re the first people to open a dedicated toastie restaurant in the country,” said Barry Chui, owner of the new restaurant.
Frankie’s Toasties has already sparked huge interest and received an overall positive reaction of social media.
“I’ve been turning quite a lot of people away who thought we were open already. Some people are saying they wouldn’t touch it with a bargepole, others are all over it. But even if they don’t like it, they’re talking about it.”
