CAFÉ OWNER SHOCKED BY NOTE

The owner of a West Auckland restaurant and café has been left reeling by a racist note left on his wife’s car while it was parked on their own premises.

"This is NZ Not Your country our land our carpark !!" said the note, followed by an image of what appears to be a dead face.

Parviz Khorakchi, owner of Arum Restaurant in Kelston, shared the note to social media. He said that this is the first instance of racism he has encountered since moving to New Zealand from Iran in 2003.

"My boy and girl are adults now but they grew up here, went to school here, they are Kiwis," he said. "This is so disappointing, we are so upset. We park in that spot all the time, this had never happened before."
