Burgers for Better

A selection of New Zealand's finest culinary talent has joined together for a month-long burger pop-up event organised by the Jo Bro's Burgers team at Ponsonby Social Club, in support of the Sir John Kirwin Foundation in a joint mission to educate Kiwi youth on how to master their mental health as early as possible.

Burgers for Better will be held every Thursday to Saturday from the 4th of April, and will feature guest burger creations from Ben Bayly, Lucas Parks, Michael Meridith, Sean Conolly and even from the All Black Legend himself, Sir John Kirwin.

The event has promised that 100 percent of food sales profit will be donated to the Sir John Kirwan foundation, providing young people with skills and knowledge to recognise and respond to mental health issues both in themselves and others.

Venetian Long Roll, Ohau wagyu and pork patty, provolone cheese, grilled capsicum, mustard and horseradish cream

(Kirwan said he loved eating these during his time up in the mountains of Italy)

Burger Rossini - available for week one of the pop-up

Brioche bun, Ohau wagyu steak hache, Comte cheese, cos lettuce, french pickles, whipped faux foie gras and truffle mayo

(The burger is Bayly's take on a French classic)

LuJoBro - available for week two of the pop-up

Potato Bun, wild shot Fiordland venison patty, roast beetroot remoulade, cheese, lettuce, pickles and mayo.

(Parkinson has chosen to stick to his guns, and will serve organic, wild food)

Burgers for Better will be held at the Ponsonby Social Club every Thursday, Friday and Saturday in April, and will be available from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm.
