Pizza Hut is pleased to become an official partner of St John New Zealand, providing the emergency ambulance service and community health services with essential fundraising support.
The community partnership was inspired by Pizza Hut Lynfield owners, Harish and Hema, who gifted pizza to their local St John station in gratitude for their relentless work in the community during the COVID-19 lockdown. The Pizza Hut New Zealand franchisee community were moved by the initiative, which inspired them to see how they could continue giving back to the frontline, beyond the lockdown.
As an official partner, Pizza Hut will undertake national and local fundraising initiatives, with the proceeds going towards new emergency ambulances and lifesaving equipment for frontline staff, and to support St John with the delivery of its vital community programmes that help New Zealanders build stronger, healthier, and more resilient lives.
Furthermore, Pizza Hut is delighted to be offering customers the ‘St John Meal Deal’, which includes free delivery and $1 from every meal sold will be donated to St John. To show gratitude for their work in the community, St John staff and volunteers will also receive special Pizza Hut year-round discounts, vouchers, and catered events.
“We could not be prouder to join forces with St John and embark on this journey together as an official partner,” said Arif Khan, Chief Executive Officer of Restaurant Brands.
“The critical services that St John provides Kiwis continue to touch the lives of our friends and families, neighbours and colleagues in more ways than one.”
St John Deputy Chief Executive – Customers & Supporters, Pete Loveridge, said the partnership is timely.
“Who doesn’t love a delicious pizza served with a good cause? We are so grateful for the commitment by Pizza Hut to provide much-needed fundraising through a fantastic meal deal to help us to deliver our essential services to New Zealanders, especially during this very busy and challenging summer season. This initiative will help us to keep our ambulances on the road and ensure we can continue to build resilient communities through our charitable health services.”
Pizza Hut will have an annual support target and to kick the partnership off today they are shouting Christmas lunch for St John staff across the country, catering for nearly 400 employees and volunteers.
