Throughout the second week of the 2018 Audi Quattro Winter Games, Asahi Onsen will be situated at the base of Cardrona Alpine Resort; allowing a select number of spectators a unique perspective of both the event and resort.
“Japan is increasingly a popular destination for winter sports, so when the opportunity came up to create an authentic Japanese experience here in New Zealand for the 2018 Audi Quattro Winter Games; it made sense for Asahi Super Dry, Japan’s #1 beer brand to curate something amazing. There’s really no better way to relax after a hard day on the slopes than soaking in an Onsen with an ice-cold Asahi Super Dry,” said group marketing manager for Asahi Super Dry NZ, Anna Lawrence.
Traditionally the role of a Japanese Onsen is one of healthful rejuvenation; Asahi Onsen participants will have the same result, guests will feel relaxed, revived and warmed after time spent out on Cardrona.
Asahi Onsen-goers will leave the snowy slopes and be greeted with a complimentary bathrobe, towel, and ice-cold Asahi Super Dry beverage.
Based at Cardrona Alpine Resort, competitors and spectators can rest in front of a roaring fire and refuel with an ice-cold Asahi Super Dry and a deliciously crafted Japanese inspired winter menu – Asahi Noodle Bar will serve up hot Japanese udon.
“We’re excited to have Asahi on board as a sponsor this year. Winter sports are huge in Japan and we can’t wait to bring a little piece of Japanese culture to Cardrona,” said Marty Toomey, CEO for the 2018 Audi Quattro Winter Games NZ.
