VIDAL CONTINUES SUCCESS

An ever-growing tally of top awards and high scores cements Vidal’s reputation as a premium wine producer and continues to help position Hawkes Bay as a world class wine region.

Vidal Legacy Hawkes Bay Chardonnay 2016 was awarded a trophy for Best Fuller Bodied Dry White at the 2018 Sydney International Wine Competition. Vidal’s Reserve Chardonnay 2016 and Reserve Syrah 2015 were also selected in the Top 100 wines after receiving Blue Gold medals.

“The recent accolades are a major coup for our viticulture and winemaking teams who have an unwavering commitment to quality. To be recognised at such a prestigious competition reinforces our belief that Hawkes Bay is one of the world’s great wine regions” said head winemaker Hugh Crichton.

The trophy and gold medals follow Vidal’s medal success at this year’s Air New Zealand Wine Awards and the recent release of high scores from revered international wine critic James Suckling.

Earlier this month Vidal Reserve Gimblett Gravels Hawke's Bay Merlot/Cabernet Sauvignon 2015 was also named as Best Red Wine Buy of the Year in the 26th edition of New Zealand Wines 2018 - Michael Cooper's Buyer's Guide.
