Vegans booed and mooed out of restaurant

A group of vegan protesters who stormed a steakhouse got more than they bargained for, after the customers started shouting (and mooing) back at them.

The protestors, believed to have been part of Direct Action Everywhere, held signs with the words “IT’S NOT FOOD, IT’S VIOLENCE” and chanted vegan slogans. One protestor, reading a speech off a piece of paper, was drowned out by the jeers and laughter of the diners, who appeared unfazed that their dinner had been interrupted. One diner even started mooing over the protesters, who left after about five minutes.

“In a time where we are experiencing mass environmental destruction, largely due to our unsustainable and unethical food choices, it is paramount that we put our egos and selfishness aside and accept that we are all connected, we are all animals,” said a spokesperson from Direct Action Everywhere. “We can no longer ignore the suffering and pain we cause. We are not the only sentient beings that inhabit this planet.”

Madsu Sudan Galtam, manager of the steakhouse, said that he had called the police but they did not arrive in time.
