USA’s National Restaurant Assocation CEO to retire

Dawn Sweeney, the CEO of USA’s National Restaurant Association, has announced that at the end of 2019 she will be stepping down.

Sweeney has served the National Restaurant Association since 2007 and said that she after her retirement, she will continue to assist the National Restaurant Association in its efforts to work towards a 2020-2024 strategic plan. She has also said that she is happy to assist the board leadership in finding her successor.

Sweeney said, “Serving and leading the restaurant industry during this historic timeframe when foodservice has grown to an $863 billion business employing over 15 million professionals, has been the most fulfilling experience of my career.”

“We have accomplished much together, including important public policy victories at all levels of government, a broadened membership base representative of the industry at large, and a revitalised organisation that has expanded and bolstered its advocacy and business capabilities. It is vital to me that we work to ensure the association and foundation have a smooth and seamless transition to plan for the future.”
