US RESTAURANTS OFFER DISCOUNT KIDS MEALS

Several restaurant chains in the US are responding to the coronavirus situation by offering discounted meals for children.

In the US each day sees the closures of schools and while the closures are a necessary step to stop the spread of coronavirus, they leave a large section of the population who depend on school lunches for nourishment in need of options.

Many school districts have arranged ways for children to receive lunch, and in some cases breakfast, while schools are shut but restaurant chains are also stepping up to help, offering things such as a free kids meal when an adult meal is purchased.

Schools are still open in New Zealand, but this situation may change, perhaps large chains here could consider the steps their American counterparts have taken if school closures do happen. Even if Kiwi schools don't close, discounted kids meals could be a welcomed relief to many parents struggling financially because of the pandemic.
