Uber Eats introduces fee for Auckland

Uber Eats has introduced a busy area fee for Auckland during peak times. This means that during busy periods, customers will have to pay higher prices for their food when they place an order. While this is the first place in New Zealand to receive the fee, Uber Eats said that many overseas cities have similar schemes.

Uber Eats also said that the fee is designed to ensure that customers still have access to as many restaurants as possible, despite the time of the day.

For customers to see whether or not they will be charged extra, an arrow will appear next to each restaurant in the app, indicating the higher fee. It will also be reflected on the order receipt.
