Tourissimo and Mary Sue Milliken launch luxury Piedmont tour

Italian soft adventure tourism company Tourissimo has announced a new, chef-led tour of Piedmont in Northern Italy. The tour includes a session at the University of Gastronomic Science in Pollenzo exploring the Slow Food movement, a number of dining experiences at three Michelin-starred restaurants, cooking classes with top chefs, and the opportunity to hunt for truffles with an authentic Italian trifulau.

The package includes dinner with Michelin-starred chef Ugo Alciati, the brains behind “Guido Ristorante” in Piedmont’s Serralunga d’Alba and the face of Eataly. Guests will be treated to a masterclass in cuisine, as well as a guide to how Alciati’s cooking transformed Piedmont’s fine dining scene.

Guests will lodge at the Corte Albertina, the former estate of King Carlo Alberto of Savoy, where they can explore the Banca del Vino, a unique wine cellar housed inside the premises. They’ll have the option to cycle past ancient castles and through hidden hilltop hamlets or go for a hike amongst beautiful vineyards.

The tour will be led by acclaimed chef Mary Sue Milliken, author of five cookbooks and co-star of the Food Network’s ‘Too Hot Tamales’. In 2018, Mary Sue and her business partner Susan Feniger became the first women to receive the Julia Child Award for their contribution to American cuisine. Mary Sue will also cook a luxurious meal for tour participants.

The all-inclusive tour is scheduled for September 30th to October 6th, 2019 and starts at $5,995 per person.
