After winning The Block NZ, Lisa Ridout-Gordon and Chris Gordon have traded in their building blocks for a chopping block. Last week, they opened The Ribz Shak, in Island Bay, which focuses on smoked and slow-cooked ribs as well as burgers, fries and milkshakes. With their special blends of sauces and seasonings, The Ribz Shak provides a hearty meal for the hungriest of customers.
The Ribz Shak also incorporates many sustainability-focused initiatives, including zero plastic cutlery, and canned water.
Ridout-Gordon said, “Our goal isn’t to follow the pack; it’s to stay true to ourselves and do what we love.”
