Wanaka Gourmet Kitchen is a family-owned restaurant known for its quality meat. Wanaka Gourmet Kitchen is one of the town’s original restaurants, having been there for the last 25 years. Their signature dishes include a slow roasted Te Mana lamb shoulder as well as a stone grill dining experience where guests can sear meat of their choice to their liking.
Recently, Wanaka Gourmet Kitchen was announced as one of the top five finalists for the Burns & Ferrall Great Container Kitchen Giveaway. “When I received the phone call regarding the prize I was quite amazed and very excited to be announced in the top five,” said co-owned Sam Blatch. “It took a little to get my understanding around what was happening.”
Blatch entered the competition through the purchase of a Rational self-cooking centre and a Winterhalter dishwasher. If he wins the container kitchen, he plans to look into some catering for events or weddings. He said that he would look for a permanent site for the new place, or find somewhere in town and set it up.
