Texas Chicken New Zealand has closed its two stores in Rotorua.
George Constantinou, managing director of Texas Chicken New Zealand, said that although the two stores are closing, it is not reflective of the brand’s overall success in New Zealand.
“High operating costs in Rotorua, coupled with sales that were slower than anticipated, means we had to make the decision to shut both of our stores,” said Constantinou. “Fortunately, this is not something we are experiencing in other regions.”
“Nationwide, Texas Chicken is growing and becoming increasingly popular. Sales are strong, and we have recently opened our first restaurant in Hamilton,” said Constantinou.
Texas Chicken extended thanks to all of those who dined and worked at the Rotorua stores.
