Inspired by the Restaurant Association’s Canterbury Branch President, Sam Crofsky from C1 Espresso fame in Christchurch, the Barista Smackdown is back for another year to find New Zealand’s top barista.
This high adrenaline visual extravaganza with wild cards and challenges will see top baristas compete head-to-head in knockout heats to create the perfect coffee. Along with the accolade of Smackdown Champion, the winning barista will also receive $1000 cash and their registered café will receive a fabulous prize as well.
Presented by the Restaurant Association and sponsored by Meadow Fresh, Mojo and Vitasoy, the event will be held at Fine Food NZ, ASB Showgrounds (Hall 4) from the 26-28 June 2016. Registrations are open
This is a fantastic opportunity for cafes and restaurants to lay claim to New Zealand’s top barista, adding their name to what organisers hope becomes a long, commended list in many years to come.
