As part of the World’s 50 Best Restaurants 2017, S.Pellegrino and Acqua Panna sponsored the world-first #50BestTalks series, in support of next generation mentorship in the global culinary sphere. The forums took place in Melbourne and Sydney in the lead-up to the prestigious awards ceremony on April 5, which was taken out by New York’s Eleven Madison Avenue.
A key theme of all the talks was ‘Mentorship of the Next Generation.’ S.Pellegrino sponsors the Young Chef award as part of the World’s 50 Best Restaurants competition and, in co-sponsoring the talks alongside Acqua Panna, reaffirmed their commitment to the fostering of young culinary talent the world over. Key speakers included former S.Pellegrino Young Chef award winners Mitch Lienhard (2016) and Mark Moriarty (2015). Other speakers included World’s 50 Best 2016 winner Massimo Bottura, World’s Best Female Chef Dominique Crenn, Asia’s 50 Best Restaurant Gaggan Anand and Daniel Humm, who would go on to win Best Restaurant 2017 for his tri-Michelin-starred restaurant.
