Texas Chicken New Zealand opened its second Rotorua restaurant in December and to celebrate they are now custom-designing a chicken burger especially for Rotorua. The popular fried chicken brand has launched an online survey asking Rotorua locals to share their thoughts on what their official regional burger should look and taste like.
“We’ve had such a fantastic welcome from Rotorua so far that we wanted to go above and beyond for this second opening,” explained Texas Chicken New Zealand country manager Allan Simons. “Designing a special chicken burger just for Rotorua is our way of saying thank you. We are really looking forward to seeing what people come up with and how we can translate that into a great regional burger.”
On opening day on 14 December, both Texas Chicken Fairy Springs and Texas Chicken Te Ngae Road gave away a year’s supply of fried chicken. The Rotorua chicken burger is expected to appear on menus in February 2019 at both Texas Chicken Fairy Springs and Texas Chicken Te Ngae Rd.
