REVENUE WOES

Jamie Oliver has taken a £5.2m payout despite the widespread closures of many of his restaurants. The last few years have not been easy for Oliver’s restaurants, most of which went into administration in May of this year. However, to the year in December 2018, sales had reached £43.5m, although pretax profits almost halved to £7.8m.

Oliver’s £5.2m payout is smaller than the payment he received last year, which totalled £8.6m. In August, Oliver revealed that he wanted to turn the remains of his business into an ethical ‘B Corporation’ that would give equal weight to people, the planet and profit.
