Restaurant Brands review

A review of Restaurant Brands payroll system has uncovered thousands of Kiwis could be eligible for a payout. Flaws in the way that Restaurant Brands paid out its annual and alternative holiday pay to its 3484 employees across the country could mean a vast, multi-million dollar sum of outgoing cash.

Restaurant Brands operates KFC, Pizza Hut, Starbucks and Carl’s Junior in New Zealand and could have to pay out their employees dating back to 2012. The company’s CEO, Arif Khan, has apologised, saying that anyone who has been affected will be reimbursed. The company’s annual report for 2019 says that $3.5 million has been put aside for settlement provision. On top of this, Restaurant Brands are actively seeking out those who may have been involved with missing pay, and are looking to make things right.
