Restaurant Brands International’s expansive plans

Restaurant Brands International (RBI) has unveiled an optimistic growth outline for its three brands, Burger King, Tim Hortons and Popeyes. Over the next eight to ten years plans to increase the number of restaurants from 26,000 to 40,000 globally. Although it is hard to predict the market in ten years, it is clear that RBI means to expand, and continue growing their established brands.

Jose Cil, CEO of RBI, said, “RBI is fundamentally a growth company, with three amazing, iconic brands that we believe have a very long runway for growth—both at home and around the world.”

When compared to some of the world’s other leading foodservice providers, YUM! Brands (KFC, Pizza Hut and Taco Bell) operates nearly 50,000 restaurants across the globe; Subway started the year with over 40,000, McDonald’s has around 38,000 and Starbucks has about 30,000.

RBI is confident that with the current state of the market, the next five years’ will continue to bring growth.
