Pizza Hut rounds off successful first year as NFL sponsor

Pizza Hut expects to sell 2 million pizzas during the Super Bowl, changing its name to ‘Pizza Hut Hut’ during one of the biggest sporting events of the year. The Super Bowl, which will be held on February 4 between the Los Angeles Rams and the New England Patriots, will cap off Pizza Hut’s first year as an NFL sponsor, and the chain has planned accordingly for what it expects to be the biggest night of the year.

“We couldn’t be more excited,” Pizza Hut chief brand officer Marianne Radley said. “It’s the biggest day of the year for the NFL and the biggest day of the year for Pizza Hut.”

The brand is engaging in a series of game day promotions, including special deals of pizzas as well as offering Pizza Hut customers a code to get a discount on Super Bowl merchandise. Delivery cars in Atlanta, where the game is being played, will be transformed with NFL branding.

Pizza Hut became the official pizza of the NFL after Papa John’s ended its eight-year contract with the league.
