Papa John’s to donate one million meals

Papa John’s has announced plans to provide one million meals to those in need through Feeding America. Feeding America is the largest domestic hunger-relief organisation in the United States. They currently support over 200 food banks within their network, along with 60,000 food pantries. Their reach is said to feed over 46 million people across the U.S.

Melissa Richards-Person, senior vice president, chief brand officer for Papa John’s, said, “April Fools’ Day is a marketing frenzy every year—and we wanted to turn it on its head by supporting a cause and helping make a difference for the over 40 million Americans who struggle with hunger. As a people-driven pizza company, helping to secure one million meals seemed like a natural fit for us to continue to make an impact in local communities.”

Andy Wilson, chief development officer at Feeding America, said, “We are excited to partner with Papa John’s and are grateful for their commitment to help fight hunger in America. Hunger is an issue that impacts every county in our country. This generous donation will help provide food for more children and families who need it most.”
