Eat Drink Ponsonby will encourage people to visit, dine and party in Ponsonby over two weekends, running from Thursday 16 May until Sunday 26 May 2019.
“Our strip is famous for its restaurants, bars and cafes,” said Ponsonby Business Association manager Viv Rosenberg. “We want to celebrate their contribution to the life of Ponsonby and show greater Auckland why we’ve earned the title of ‘Auckland’s Hippest Strip’.”
Over 10 days the PBA will be showcasing Ponsonby’s finest cuisine from acclaimed restaurants to casual dining, from brunch to evening cocktails. In addition to the focus on food and drinks local retailers will also be involved, incorporating their stores into the experiences. Underscoring the community nature of Ponsonby, Barfoot & Thompson is the principal partner for Eat Drink Ponsonby.
“Giving back and building relationships with our local community is a major focus for us,” said branch manager of Barfoot & Thompson Ponsonby, Tim Irvine. “This is a great opportunity for us to support our neighbourhood by getting on board as the principal partner for this exciting prestigious foodie event coming to Ponsonby”
The programme of special dinners, master classes, events and experiences will be announced in March 2019.
