NEW ADDITION TO SKYCITY PRECINCT

Spice Alley will serve affordable, flavoursome hawker-style cuisine with a selection of signature dishes by Chef Pan. Opening Spice Alley fulfils a dream of Pan’s to share his own unique cuisine. Originally from Thailand, Pan has been working at SKYCITY for the past 15 years following many years working in restaurants in Sri Lanka, Singapore, Vietnam and Thailand.

“I said to myself that one day I would make my own food, doing it my way,” said Pan. “I’m excited that my team and I will be able to share a new way of eating with our guests.”

While many of his sauce recipes are traditional, Pan’s signature dishes often mix and match elements from across South East Asia. His menu includes many dishes with elements that cross the borders of Pan Asia’s culinary empires or have been adapted to take advantage of New Zealand produce. Chef Pan describes his style as uncomplicated, full of flavour, love, passion for his craft, and only using fresh produce and quality ingredients.

Tiger beer will be on tap, while a selection of iconic beers from South East Asia including Bintang, Hanoi Beer, Tingsao and Singha will also be available by bottle. The refined cocktail list will feature familiar South East Asian flavours like lemongrass, lime leaf, ginger, lychee, mango and coconut cream.

Located inside SKYCITY on Level 3, nearby the popular Andy’s Burgers & Bar, Spice Alley will seat 100 people in a mix of booths and tables. Spice Alley is the second restaurant to open at SKYCITY in the past year, with Chinese restaurant Huami opening in July 2017 in the award-winning Federal Street dining precinct.
