MORGAN HEADING TO NIUE

Rex Morgan, head chef at Wellington’s Boulcott Street Bistro, will be heading to Niue later this year as a guest of the KaiNiue Food and Wine festival. Despite being well-travelled, Morgan has never been to Niue and will be cooking with produce he’s never used before.

Morgan will be collaborating with Jeremy Rameka, owner of Pacifica in Napier, for the welcome drinks event, and the lunch and gala dinner.

The festival, which runs from 2 – 5 November, will offer daily events showcasing the best that Niue has to offer. Morgan and Rameka won’t be the only New Zealanders on show, with master cooking classes from Lou and Ant Bentley from Akaroa Cooking School and wines from Invivo and Yealands.

“KaiNiue Food Festival will be a magical celebration of food and wine that is not to be missed,” said Niue Tourism Chief Executive Felicity Bollen. “We can’t wait to show off Niue’s Pacific flavours, our amazing island and unique culture, but foodies need to book now because there are limited tickets to each event.”
