LEVEL 3 MENUS REVEALED

Auckland restaurateurs, Sid and Chand Sahrawat, have released their plans for Level 3 contactless takeaway and delivery menu options for their three restaurants: Sidart, Cassia and Sid at The French Café.

Chef Sid has worked with his chefs to create dishes that will travel while still being representative of the cuisine each restaurant is known for, Cassia (contemporary Indian), Sidart (elevated or progressive Indian) and Sid at The French Café (French Inspired New Zealand Cuisine).

All three restaurants will reopen for orders from Monday 20 April for contactless pickup and contactless delivery commencing Tuesday 28 April, offering lunch Wednesday – Friday and dinner Tuesday – Saturday.

SidartAtHome has six dishes on offer, all served with house made pull apart garlic bread, saffron rice, and a dessert which changes weekly. Expect menu items such as the Lamb meatballs with almond korma, the Market fish with Kerala sauce or the Tandoori chicken with chettinand sauce. Two family options are also available. View details and full menu here.

With CassiaAtHome, customers can expect a longer a la carte menu format with snacks, entrees, mains, sides and desserts - with perennial favourites on offer such as the Beef short rib with spinach and mushroom or the Signature lamb seekh kebab curry. All mains include rice and naan bread. View details and full menu here.

SidAtTheFrenchCafeAtHome will offer guests the chef’s interpretation of five classic French dishes such as the Mushroom & truffle lasagne, Beef bourguignon with truffle fries or Duck à l ‘Orange with kumara, soy and ginger. Dishes come with salad, house-made sourdough and dessert. Two family options are also available. View details and full menu here.

Contactless delivery is available for $8 within a three-kilometre radius of each restaurant, with the radius extended for orders over $250. The restaurant staff will deliver orders on Flamingo scooters using insulated backpacks, or by car.

While he has enjoyed spending more time with his family, Chef Sid is excited to get back into the kitchen again.

“This is about reconnecting with our guests when they cannot come to us, we go to them and provide the extra service,” noted Sahrawat.

“It’s also about supporting our local suppliers who don’t service supermarkets, as their businesses are geared to support hospitality. We also felt it would be good for our staff morale and mental wellbeing to come back to work even if it is in a limited capacity.

“We will not be making a lot of money from providing takeaways and deliveries and this is not a decision we have made lightly but we need to adapt, and we feel if we can safely do it, then we should.”

All restaurants strictly adhere to the Restaurant Association of New Zealand’s Contactless Preparation and Food Delivery Guidelines for the Hospitality Industry.

All packaging is compostable and sustainable from Ecoware and each delivery bag will include the name of the delivery person and reheating instructions if required. The menus cater to dietaries where possible and dietaries must be noted at the time of ordering.

Phone orders are required for orders over $150 (Cassia) and $250 (Sidart & Sid at The French Café) and deliveries may be available outside the three-kilometre radius for orders exceeding $250).

Restaurant numbers as follows - Sidart (09) 360 2122, Cassia (09) 379 9702 and Sid at The French Café (09) 377 1911 (ext. 1).
