ITALIAN FOOD PRESENTED TO THE WORLD

More than one thousand new products from about three thousand exhibiting companies will be presented to the eighty thousand operators expected to attend Cibus 2018. The more innovative products will have a dedicated area, set up within the new pavilion. Operators will be able to taste the new products thanks also to the great number of show cooking events, with the best chefs working among the stalls as well as in the space devoted to typical Italian products.

The 19th edition of Cibus (from Monday, May 7 to Thursday May 10, organized by Fiere of Parma and Federalimentare) inaugurates a new pavilion (no. 4.1) that will host "Cibus Innovation Corner,” a selection of the more innovative products, and talks and debates about innovation trends and dynamics in the food and distribution sector. The complete list of the new products presented at Cibus 2018 will be available on the Cibus.it website and app.

This year there will be an ever-greater number of top chefs suggesting creative ways of cooking the new Italian food products. The gastronomic profile of the exhibition will be enriched by the new format of the public Food Courts, with tasting and show cooking of typical local products taking place continuously in Pavilion 8. Both individual companies and companies that are members of Regional Organizations, Chambers of Commerce and Consortia (from Campania, Calabria, Emilia Romagna, Piedmont, Tuscany, Lazio and more) will be present. To these is added, for the first time, the "Gourmet Taste" area, consisting of a selection of companies, over twenty exhibitors from Europe and Asia, that will offer tastings of international gourmet products.

Strategically located next to the Food Court and Gourmet Taste, the Buyers Lounge will host about 2500 foreign top buyers, for whom the programme of guided tours of food companies in the Emilia Food Valley has been expanded. These are buyers and managers from the top retails chains in the USA, Canada, South America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. There will also be buyers for large retailers operating in Italy and abroad, including the Auchan Group and Coop, which will set up their own sourcing and promotional area.

Italian designation of origin products will be widely represented at the AICIG stand (Italian Association of Geographical Indication Consortia), while the "Multiproduct" pavilion will house the stands of the Fishing Department of the Ministry of Agricultural, Food and Forestry Policy, of Micromalto - bringing dozens of artisanal micro-breweries -, of oil producers presented by Unaprol, as well as, for the first time this year, some of the best cases in the national agricultural sector organized by their representative organization.

As for the Fuori Salone event in the city, "Parma City of Gastronomy", from 5 to 13 May it will present, under the Portici del Grano arcades, the story of local food excellence through a multi-sensory itinerary of discovery and tasting of the products that make of Parma the Capital of the Food Valley.
