INTERNATIONAL PARTNERSHIP

The Prime Minister of the Netherlands, Mark Rutte, has announced a joint cooperation statement on climate change with New Zealand. Not only will this encourage Dutch and Kiwi farmers to work together, but it has brought together food initiatives that will focus on sustainable ways forward.

Through the partnership, industry and research consortium Netherlands’s Food Valley has teamed up with New Zealand’s Food HQ to begin moving the food segment of this joint venture forward. “For New Zealand and the Netherlands, taking decisive and ambitious action on climate change is a priority, and we are committed to embracing this challenge while building a productive, sustainable and inclusive economy,” the joint statement said.

Both New Zealand and the Netherlands are a part of the Carbon Neutrality Coalition which aims to limit the global temperature increase to 1.5 degrees above pre-industrial levels.
