Sydney’s legendary Icebergs Dining Room and Bar is coming to Auckland for a night with SKYCITY chef Sean Connolly at his restaurant Gusto at the Grand on Thursday 28 June.
Dynamic duo Maurice Terzini and Monty Koludrovic, of Australia’s iconic Icebergs Dining Room and Bar, situated on the southern cliff tops of the Pacific Ocean in Bondi Beach, are heading across the Ditch to team up with Connolly and treat guests to a four course Italian feast at Gusto at the Grand at SKYCITY Auckland.
For 15 years Icebergs Dining Room and Bar has been at the forefront of the Australian culinary landscape and this four-course menu is inspired by Maurice Terzini’s Italian heritage and created and executed by head chef Monty Koludrovic.
Koludrovic is excited to bring their fresh and authentically Italian approach to the Auckland dining scene, explaining their focus on cooking regionally and working closely with local producers.
“In a sense the way to cook with a truly Italian heart is to cook with a love for your region. With our event in Auckland I wanted to really include some amazing and iconic New Zealand produce so we can continue cooking with a love of Italian food and a true sense of place.”
This event promises to be a spirited evening with all three personalities sharing a close friendship and dedicated ethos for fresh Italian cuisine.
“It’s an honour to share my kitchen at Gusto at the Grand with legends that have been such an inspiration to me during my career,’’ said Connolly. “Over the past couple of years, we’ve had the Godfather of Italian cuisine, the late Antonio Carluccio, my good friend Giovanni Pilu, and now I’m beyond excited to bring the iconic Icebergs duo Maurice and Monty to New Zealand for the first time.”
