ICE CREAM INNOVATION

Ben & Jerry’s is landing in Wellington’s International Airport, with the store set to be a world-first for innovation and sustainability. Out of Ben & Jerry’s 577 stores across the world, the Wellington airport store will boast the least packaging. The store will only serve ice cream cones instead of cups, the shake and sundae cups will be certified compostable bioplastic made from plants, and the napkins will be recycled, as well.

“Our social mission lies at the heart of everything we do, increasing our impact as the business continues to grow,” said Bert Naber, country manager Ben & Jerry’s Australia and New Zealand. “Our Wellington airport scoop shop allows us to continue this mission and makes it easier for Kiwis to get a hold of our famous chunks and swirls.”

The store will be located by gate 20 in the domestic terminal.
