Irvine, California is home to the first-ever Hello Kitty Grand Café. There are several Sanrio-themed cafés across the globe with several pop-up cafes in America; however this will be the first permanent Hello Kitty Café. Sanrio described the opening as its “first and only permanent café in the US featuring dual experiential spaces – a fast casual café setting open to the public and a separate private room for reservation-only afternoon tea programmes and cocktail service.”
Reservations for special events will be hosted in the Bow Room, a pink oasis with Hello Kitty-branded fixtures. During the day the room features tea service including fruits, croissants, salads and other treats and is available as a 21+ cocktail bar in the evening. The fast-service section of the café seats 12 guests and offers quick bites such as themed cookies, cakes, doughnuts and other merchandise. All food and drink served is Hello Kitty themed and shaped with dishes and cutlery matching the aesthetic.
