HEIDI’S HUT OPEN FOR EUROPEAN DINNERS

Heidi’s Hut, a bastion bistro of ski hotspot Coronet Peak, is launching a limited run of banquet-style dinners.

Making the most of the season, the on-mountain restaurant will be serving a multi-course banquet inspired by the Alps, targeting upmarket winter tourists looking for a classic European après-ski experience. Coronet Peak Ski Area Manager Nigel Ker explained that there has been an increased demand for luxury on-snow experiences from international and domestic tourists alike.

“Offering a gourmet experience at one of our most popular dining venues meets that demand in a novel way,” explained Ker. “This is about enhancing the snow love affair that is so popular in Europe right here in Queenstown.”

The exclusive dining experience means a maximum of 40 guests will have unique views of the night sky reflected in the Wakatipu basin as they enjoy a family-style meal. Intimacy is created and encouraged with a roaring fire and adjoining tables.

The bistro will offer a feast of Northern Italian fare like fondue and braised lamb cheeks, and focus on using local, free-range produce. The package also includes a glass of Veuve Clicquot and return transport from Queenstown.

The package will run every Friday and Saturday night until ski season winds down on September 8th.
