Switchel is a raw and living prebiotic health drink, featuring raw, unfiltered New Zealand apple cider vinegar. Switchel originated in the Caribbean and had become a popular summer drink in the American colonies in the late 17th century. By the 19th century, it became a traditional drink to serve to thirsty farmers at hay harvest time, hence the nickname ‘haymaker’s punch’. A recent winner of the Non-Alcoholic category in the Inspire+ New Zealand Artisan Awards, Greenleaf Organics’ Pineapple Switchel is handmade in New Zealand and BioGro certified organic. It contains filtered water, apple cider vinegar, pineapple, ginger and Grade A maple syrup.
